Bank Staff - an excellent investment...
…no, not people who work in financial institutions but people who work flexibly for Beaumond House in a number of departments, as and when they are needed. Five new health care assistants recently joined the care team bank bringing a wealth of experience, skills and enthusiasm. We are investing in them by providing a comprehensive induction programme, with training days, shadowing staff, insight visits and one-to-one supervision, to ensure they have the necessary knowledge and skills to deliver high quality care in a way that meets an individuals’ particular needs. This investment enables us to provide the best quality of staff at all times and to respond to changes in demand for care, such as supporting patients and families in crisis in the community. Bank staff work their shifts around their commitments and family life. A lot of the bank shifts can be booked in advance to help us cover occasions such as staff holidays and training. We also appreciate bank staff who help us out at short notice!
The new staff were asked what it has been like to start working at Beaumond House and told us they “Felt really welcomed from the first day”, “Felt instantly part of Beaumond House”, “Appreciate having enough time to spend with patients and families”, “That the patients come first here”, “Delivering high quality care without rushing”, and, “I find the work very rewarding”, “It’s very special to be let in to families to care for their loved one at the end of their life”. Sounds like the bank has a good balance!
