Resource and Information Centre Update
Since the Beaumond House Resource and Information Centre opened in 2011 we have supported over 2000 people. The centre is an extension of the services offered from the House. You can expect to receive the same warmth and welcome you would receive at Beaumond House, although the service itself is about offering support and advice. Those that come through our doors are usually carers, families and patients affected by either cancer or other life limiting illnesses. We welcome anyone with a question or concern whether it be about themselves, a loved one who might be experiencing concerning symptoms. Some of our visitors have experienced a bereavement and we offer them counselling and support.
Over the next few months the centre will be promoting prostate cancer awareness, ovarian cancer and bowel cancer. Anyone can call in for information on screening, diagnosis or treatment and any other queries. We also offer benefits advice for those concerned about the impact a serious diagnosis might have on their finances. If you have any questions do call in, you can chat in confidence to Christine our Macmillan Information and Support Specialist, ask questions or discreetly take information.
We are next door to our shop on Stodman Street in Newark and are open every weekday 10am to 4pm. We hope to increase our opening times in the near future, so watch this space.
