Our Collingham Shop Opens Tomorrow!

Beaumond House Community Hospice is to open its third shop tomorrow, raising essential funds for the hospice.

The new shop is in Collingham, next to the medical centre off the High Street, in a unit under the dental surgery. It will be officially opened by Newark MP, Mr Robert Jenrick, at 12.15, who will cut a ribbon at the shop entrance.

We also have shops in Newark and Southwell. Fundraising and marketing manager Cathy Lowe said the shops provide a very important source of funds for the hospice. “At Beaumond House we feel we are at the heart of the local community and our shops are an extension of that,” she said. “We rely on local people to help make them a success.” Cathy said it has always been their ambition to open a third high street store. Costs are kept low to ensure the maximum contribution is made to support the work of the hospice.

“We continue to support a large number of patients from the Collingham area and so the community is very aware of the hospice and has always been incredibly supportive,” she said.

“The location of the unit in Collingham is ideal, it is centrally placed, easily accessible with the added benefit of parking at the front.

The community has already been busy helping with the project. Collingham Scout Group has delivered leaflets to let residents know about the shop and more than 30 people have volunteered to help run it.

Retail manager Gary White said there had been a fantastic response from people in Collingham and surrounding areas to a plea for donations.

“We have been overwhelmed by the donations we have received to stock the shop which clearly reflects the importance of Beaumond House to the residents of Collingham,” he said. “I look forward to becoming an even bigger part of this wonderful community.”
