Newark has been experiencing an increased number of people testing positive for coronavirus. With this in mind we are taking some steps at Beaumond House hospice to lower the risks for our patients, their loved ones and our staff.
We are reviewing the measures regularly and hope to continue to provide all the services in the safest way possible.
Visitors to the hospice in patient unit have been reduced to essential visits at this time. We know how important it is for patients to have their loved ones with them and will still allow visitors on a case by case basis for the most important moments as agreed with the senior nurse.
The ongoing support and care for patients who usually attend day therapy will be adapted to be provided virtually and through telephone support, ceasing doorstep visits and support calls during this time.
Our bereavement support service will continue to be provided over the phone and this is available to the loved ones of those people we have cared for.
The Hospice at Home team are caring for people in their own homes. This can be for personal care, advice and support at the most difficult time and help for carers.
If you or someone you know needs our support please do call and speak to one of the team who will be happy to help and advise you. All our care is provided free of charge and is not means tested or affected by other care you may be receiving.
