Beaumond House Hospice Care will be bringing summertime fun to Newark as it hosts its annual Garden Party.
The hospice, which provides free palliative care for people in Newark and Sherwood, is hosting the party at its premises on London Road on Saturday 29th June.
Taking place between 10am and 3pm, the event will feature a variety of family-friendly activities such as free crafts, a tombola, hook-a-duck, a raffle, and biscuit decorating, as well as visits from some furry friends including alpacas and ponies.
Guests will also have the opportunity to browse stalls selling items such as jumpers, paper flowers and handbags - the funds from which will enable the charity to continue supporting local people to live well and die well.
For the local foodies, there will be delicious hot and cold food on offer including hot pork buns, vegan sausage buns, homemade cakes and an ice cream stand.
Louise Sinclair, Chief Executive at Beaumond House, said:
“We’re thrilled to be hosting our annual Garden Party, which will offer an exciting summertime family day out for people in Newark and beyond.
“Not only will the event provide an opportunity for the community to come together for some fun, it will also raise vital funds and awareness about how we help local people with a terminal diagnosis and their families.
“There will be representatives from Macmillan Cancer Support, the Door2Door Service and the Butterfly Service offering advice and support, and we’ll also be offering the chance for people to try out some of our Complementary Therapy services in the treatment room. Sessions for this can be booked by calling 01636 610556.
“It’s an open event for all who would like to attend and there’s no need to book a space - just come along and have some fun for a good cause!”
