Beaumond House Hospice Care Celebrates the Opening of its New Charity Shop in Southwell

Beaumond House, your local hospice, is delighted to announce the opening of a brand-new shop in Southwell.

The charity shop, which has now relocated to Westgate in Southwell, will officially celebrate the opening of its new location this Thursday, 12th December, at 10:30 am.

The popular and well-loved shop had to move from its former home on Queen Street in Southwell after it was found to need significant work to improve the building. This move resulted in the hospice losing a vital source of income generated by the shop.

The new shop will be stocked with ladies, men’s, and children’s clothing, as well as bric-a-brac and Christmas cards. The official opening will include a ribbon-cutting by the shop’s longest-serving volunteer, Cynthia Woolley.

Cynthia, who has volunteered for 30 years in the shop said

“I loved working in the previous shop and got to know many of the regular customers. I’m thrilled to be asked to open this new shop and so pleased to know we can start to raise much-needed income for our local hospice once again.

It takes a whole team to keep the shop open and I know many of the volunteers are keen to get back to work. I encourage anyone interested in volunteering to pop along to find out more. You really will enjoy it.”

Louise Sinclair, CEO of Beaumond House said

“Over the years, the people of Southwell and surrounding villages have offered a huge amount of support to the hospice through the shop. Whether through volunteering or donating and buying clothing and bric-a-brac, we are so grateful for this support.

Shop Manager, Tracey Maclean, and her team are looking forward to welcoming customers, old and new on Thursday.”
