Christmas Advent Campaign

A new appeal has been launched to encourage people to remember Beaumond House this Christmas and to have some much welcome fun after a difficult year.

Events and corporate fundraising officer Kat Wright is hoping the whole community will get behind the Christmas Advent Campaign.

“We would love people to think about Beaumond House Hospice Care this Christmas,” she said.

“It is traditionally a time for giving and helping others - what better present to give than helping the hospice so it can continue to support local families with its special care.”

Companies, groups, families and individuals are being urged to take part in the campaign and pledge a minimum of £150 to open a door of an Advent calendar in the 24 days leading up to Christmas.

In return they will have a dedicated space behind the door which can be used for a company logo, a picture of a loved one or a special message. The virtual advent calendar will be on the hospice website.

We particularly want to support businesses at this critical time and so will also be offering them a social media package to promote their services and products.

Kat is asking for people to sign up this month (November) and they then have until Christmas Day to raise the money.

“The seven week countdown begins to raise or donate the money in any way chosen! We want this to be a really great appeal, full of Christmas cheer.”

Local business Abbott and Co are the first to pledge their support, they say “the Abbott team feel honoured to be involved in raising the profile of the Beaumond House Advent Calendar, and are sure other companies will feel the same”.

The community are also getting involved, Matt Rouse is pledging to raise the money from selling Christmas hampers.

“After such a tough year I want to support my local charity but I am also looking forward to getting creative and having some much needed festive fun!”.
