Could you volunteer this Christmas?

Updated: 5 days ago

Our festive plans are well underway and we can't wait for our upcoming events and fundraising opportunities!

Our events couldn't take place without our wonderful volunteers and as ever, we are looking for some volunteers to help us this Christmas. Even just a couple of hours is a huge help and makes such a difference to the success of our events.

Further details are below.

We would be so grateful if you are able to help. Please contact Jo-Anne Wilson, our Event and Community Fundraiser on 01636 610556 or email here.

Sunday 24th November 2024

We are making a big noise on this year’s Newark Christmas lights turn on. We are bringing a Rodeo Reindeer to the marketplace along with our stall with traditional Christmas Raffle and games for children.

We are looking for volunteers to help take the money for the Rodeo, £5 for two goes (must be over 1.2m high and able to get on and off the ride independently) there is a trained team to operate the ride.

We also need volunteers to man the stall to sell raffle tickets and support the activities such as ‘find the chocolate ‘ and tombola.

Shifts are;

9am to 11.15am

11am to 1.15pm

1pm to 3.15pm

3pm to 5.30pm (lights switch on time - including help to take the stalls down)

Saturday 7th December 2024

This year we are taking our Winter Wonderland to the marketplace along with our stall with traditional Christmas Raffle and games for children.

We are looking for volunteers to help run the sunshine bear’s Christmas Grotto, Sunshine will be in a parcel and fairy light filled Christmas themed gazebo for families to come and have their photos taken. There is no charge for this activity, but we will have collection buckets.

The Beaumond House charity shops are doing a pop-up shop, everything will be priced but they would love help to take money and keep the stall tidy. In addition to all that we are planning a bed push from the house to the market in the morning.

The bed will then stay in the market to raise awareness of our services and to raise money for the big give, this year this is to raise enough money to purchase a cuddle bed, a hospital bed made for two, so families can have that last cuddle with the one they love.

The shifts are as follows:

9am to 11.15am

11am to 1.15pm

1pm to 3.15pm

3pm to 5.30pm (including help to take the stalls down)
