Janet has been attending Day Therapy at Beaumond House once a week for the past three years. Transport is arranged for her by Beaumond House and its volunteers.
Janet’s journey with Beaumond House started when her husband became terminally ill and passed away at the Hospice. After his death, the Oxygen nurses who cared for Janet, put her in touch with Beaumond House, and a team member reached out to invite her to Day Therapy.
Though she initially felt anxious about returning because her husband died at the hospice, Janet now feels comfortable and happy attending. It’s important to her that she meets others who share similar struggles, as it allows her to openly talk about her feelings without needing to "put on a happy face." She appreciates the spiritual, medical, and therapeutic support offered, which has been very helpful.
Despite the challenges that come with the loss of loved ones, the support from the Beaumond House team has helped her feel better and comforted her each day.
Personally, Janet would like to pass away in the Hospice, and if needed, she would also welcome support from Hospice at Home.
Janet would like to to share a message with others
"Beaumond House is not just a place for life's final journey, but also a place that makes life better, offering peace, support, and care to everyone who walks through its doors."
